Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNO): Police in Sopore on Saturday said to have booked a notorious drug peddler under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The notorious drug peddler Muzafar Ahmad Marazi son of Mohammad Akbar Marazi resident of Sofi Hamam Sopore have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. He has been taken into custody and is now being held in the District Jail Udhampur, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Pertinently, many cases are registered against the said drug peddler and he was still involved in drug peddling by supplying drugs to the local youth of the Police District Sopore, police said. “The general public of Sopore have appreciated the role played by the Police in taking action against drug smugglers/peddlers. Police is committed to take strict actions against such criminals as per the law,” the statement reads—(KNO)
